Devour - Series

Devour is a multimedia narrative series, utilizing prop and costume making, and makeups. It pulls from Jewish Mysticism and Jewish Mythology, specifically the stories about the succubi Eisheth and Naamah.

It’s about how past and current representations of disabled people in the media actively harm disabled people and contribute to our marginalization and oppression.

The figure is a Succubus, acting as a symbol for the way society consumes disabled people's narratives and the media that exploits them. In all the pieces she masquerades as disabled, and our blood, represented by the stark red fingertips, is on her hands because of this action.
